State Auditor Andrew Sorrell, our first ever guest on 1819 News: The Podcast, joins us this week on our 100th episode.
Listen as Alabama State Auditor, Andrew Sorrell, tells his personal story as well as what it is that he does in the Auditor's Office.
Andrew is arguably the most conservative person in state government as evidenced by his time in the state house. He stood with courage, oftentimes by himself, against ever expanding state budgets year after year. Andrew played a major role in the passing of Constitutional Carry legislation and was labeled as a radical when in fact he was just doing the things on the Republican Party platform as a Republican.
This week's overtime segment discussion revolves around the fact that courage is being rewarded more than ever in politics right now but still so few are willing to lean into the buzzsaw.

In God's providence, Chairman Wahl sits on the State Library Board at a very pivotal time. They discuss the attacks that have come his way for simply talking to concerned parents and the fact that the pornographic books causing the issues are just one more form of social engineering to rid America of her Christian roots.
They also look forward to the Presidential election and talk Vivek, Trump, and DeSantis.
OVERTIME: This week's overtime segment features Bryan and John discussing the AEA's involvement in Republican candidates and how that is problematic and what the party is doing about it.

In this episode, 1819 News CEO and Editor-in-Chief explain the decision making process that went into publishing the stories about the late Mayor and Pastor Bubba Copeland.
On Nov 1st, 2023, 1819 News published a story about a small town Alabama Mayor who was also a pastor. The story exposed that this elected official and Baptist preacher was leading a double life by posting sexual photos of him dressed in drag, as well as posting memes encouraging children to transition, and writing explicit homoerotic fiction stories. All of which were posted on public forums.
After we published the story, we had many citizens in the area reach out to provide us with more information, including the fact that the children pictured on the transition memes were actual children from the community that he used without the parents permission and the memes appeared on porn sites. We were also made aware that one of the fiction stories written by Mayor Copeland was about killing an actual female Phenix City business owner with the intent of stealing her identity to have sex with her husband.
In the early evening of Friday, Nov 3rd, 2023 Mayor Bubba Copeland took his life after being involved in a low speed pursuit with law enforcement that was attempting to stop him for a wellness check.
Media outlets from across the nation proceeded to place blame on 1819 News for his death saying that 1819 News had no right to share those aspects of Mayor/Pastor Bubba Copeland's life.
We stand 100% behind our decision to publish the stories and Jeff and Bryan breakdown why in this week's episode.

This week's episode will travel the full gamut of emotions as Rick Burgess sits down with Bryan to share a message they hope will challenge men to take their responsibility as husbands, fathers, and spiritual leaders serious.
Rick shares the story of how God used the near death experience of his wife while she was giving birth to get his attention causing him to become serious about his faith. He began to grow in his faith and love for God's Word, ultimately becoming the leader his family deserved. 9 years later when tragedy struck and they lost their son in a tragic accident, Rick was able to be the rock his family needed to navigate them through the pain and loss.
This incredible story of God's grace and mercy through tragedy will move you deeply and Rick's words will challenge you to take your faith seriously so that you are prepared to lead when tragedy strikes.
OVERTIME: This week's overtime segment, Rick and Bryan discuss the consequences for ""Fake World"" foisting their nonsense upon real folks and how that has backfired with Target, Bud Light, Disney and more. This one is a lot of fun and exactly what you'd expect when Rick and Bryan get together.

This week Bryan sits down with Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen to hear his story and what his plan is to keep from outsourcing the important job of maintaining our voter rolls. Wes Allen's first order of business when becoming Secretary of State was to get us out of ERIC, a voter integrity database with questionable ties to George Soros funded organizations. Wes Allen made a trip out to ERIC's headquarters only to find that their headquarters didn't exist. Wes got Alabama out of ERIC, but that wasn't the hard part, the hard part was creating a system that would do what ERIC did except it would be done in Alabama by Alabamians. Wes comes on to tell us about that process as well as the features and benefits of the new system, AVID, that his team built.
Overtime Segment : Wes explains the proposed legislation he has been working on that would prevent ballot harvesting in Alabama.

This week Bryan sits down with Lt. Gov Will Ainsworth to talk about two very important topics. First up they discuss Economic Incentives and Workforce Development, how those two things are connected, and what the state is doing in these areas. Economic Incentives seem to be the Holy Grail of Alabama politics so we ask some clarifying questions. How do they work? What's the point? How can we keep jobs from becoming an idol to where we compromise our conservative principles to keep jobs.
They finish the podcast discussing what needs to be done to make sure we never have another government overreach reaction like we did during COVID. Will pulls no punches and systematically breaks down what needs to be done both from a leadership perspective and a legislative perspective to ensure we never have to go through anything like that again.
BTS: This week's overtime is Lt. Gov Will Ainsworth letting it rip on the ridiculousness of the US43 project where we plan to borrow against future gas tax money to build a $1B corridor from Tuscaloosa to Mobile despite getting no Federal matching funds and having other infrastructure issues that should be much higher on the priority list.
